Working With Nature To Build A Better World
Our Design Process
Untapped Abundance
We see the world as filled with untapped abundance in the productivity of healthy ecosystems. The problem is, we’ve degraded so many of our ecosystems that most of us scarcely know what one actually looks like. Our mission is to provide solutions and plans that lean into this unrealized ecological potential and build it back.
Implementation Plan
The first step of any good design and implementation plan is developing a full understanding of existing context in terms of your goals, your current patterns of use, and all existing features of your land and built environment and forces acting upon it before moving forward with any changes. This approach allows us to see opportunities for increasing vitality, production, and appeal that can come from just working with existing flows of energy and connecting elements together.
Turning Problems Into Solutions
We can transform a water problem in one area into a watering solution in another. Better catching of sunlight during the winter can seriously reduce heating costs. Linking crop and livestock operations in well-considered ways can increase the productivity of both. When we view the landscape and built environment through this lens of interconnection, many of the solutions we seek almost “pop” out of the picture on their own.
